Combined Parish Apostolates

Seasons of Hope
Our Lord assured us that those who mourn are blessed and that they shall be comforted. Seasons of Hope offers the bereaved an opportunity to come together to share God’s love. With the support of the faith community, we can give voice to our unique journeys of grief and find healing and spiritual growth. Seasons of Hope sessions help us explore mourning through scripture, prayer, reflection activities, and faith sharing, and is centered on Jesus Christ and grounded in the healing wisdom, traditions, and practices of the Catholic Church. Each year, many families face the loss of ones who are members of the parish. Our Catholic tradition provides funeral support. Seasons of Hope can now carry that caring spirit into the difficult period that follows when grief can overwhelm. It also serves those who mourn loved ones from outside our parish community. They too may feel isolated, empty, and broken-hearted. For more information, please contact Deacon Chris Evans at (330) 402-5450 or cevans@ololstj.com

Mothers’ Apostolate
Our parish has formed the Mothers’ Apostolate to promote community among families; to strengthen each other in our vocations of wives and mothers; and to build faith by sharing prayers, works, and experiences. We strive to follow in the words of St. Paul, “Therefore, encourage one another and build one another up, as indeed you do.” (1 Thes. 5:11)

Divine Mercy
Our group is an outreach for the spiritual work of mercy to pray with the sick or dying in order to bring God’s message of mercy to them. If you’d like a prayer team to pray with you or a loved one, call the parish office at 330-482-2351 or the Divine Mercy number at 330-426-9346. We meet on the second Monday of the month at 9:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Church hall. If you are interested in being a part of this apostolate or would like to learn more about the Divine Mercy message, please join us. Lord Jesus, we place our trust in you.

Cancer Support
Our Cancer Support Apostolate holds meetings for people with cancer and anyone touched by the disease. They can have many benefits. Even though a lot of people receive support from friends and family, the number one reason they join a support group is to be with others who have similar cancer experiences. For more information, please contact Linda Smith-Davis.

Right To Life
For the Church, there is no distinction between defending human life and promoting the dignity of the human person. To achieve this goal, the priority plan includes ongoing education, prayer, policy, and advocacy efforts to mobilize the Catholic community on issues of life, justice, and peace. In this way, the Catholic community celebrates the gift of human life and witnesses to the Good News of Jesus Christ (USCCB). For more information contact Dom Sciaretta from STJ or Lisa Rudloff at OLOL.

Young Adult Ministry
The mission of this Apostolate is to help all young adults hear and actively respond to the Gospel message of Jesus Christ and enthusiastically participate in the life and mission of His Church. Informal gatherings take place once a month and may include food, music, games, prayer, and learning. Sometimes, we will gather for day retreats, service projects, picnics, sports, and more! Follow us on Facebook – OLOL & STJ Young Adult Ministry.
