JOY of Our Lady of Lourdes seeks to serve members of our Parish at times when they could use support, the arrival of a new baby, a catastrophic situation or the death of a family member. If you are aware of anyone who could benefit from this ministry, please contact Melissa Gatchel 330-301-6688. New members welcome meetings are the fourth Thursday of the month at 7 PM in the Church Hall.
Teams of two (2) visit parishioners who are lonely and those who are housebound. The visits include prayer and Holy Eucharist. Visits are scheduled twice monthly. Teams take the church bulletin, prayer cards and other items that may interest those visited. The SALT Ministry is designed to let those people know they have not been forgotten and that they are a real part of the parish and the Body of Christ active through His Church. If you would like to be a part of this ministry or know someone that could benefit from these visits please call Barb Lynch (330-426-2387) or Joan Dever (330-457-1517).
This is a group of people from both parishes dedicated to the spiritual work of mercy - praying for the sick. The main mission is to pray with and for those who are dying, facing serious illness, surgery or any major problem. We pray in order to console them and their dying family and help them to trust in God's unfathomable mercy. Another mission is to help spread and live out the message of Divine Mercy as revealed to Saint Faustina, a Polish nun who lives in the 1930's. Our short monthly meetings focus on the message of this devotion. We meet in Lourdes Hall on the second Monday of the month at 9:00 am. All that is needed is a compassion for the sick and a prayerful heart. For more information, contact Lisa Rudloff at [email protected].
Gift of Mary of Our Lady of Lourdes is an apostolate that serves the needy in our Parish and our community. We sponsor a community meal the third Saturday of the month for people in need of food and/or fellowship. In addition to the meals at the Church Hall, we deliver a meal to many homebound members of the community.
We join with other churches in our community to provide summer lunches for children from ages 0 – 18 during the months of June and July. We participate in the Backpack Program which provides for the weekend to elementary students as determined by the school district.
We offer monetary allowances for food, meds, and rent.
If you can cook, deliver food, make phone calls, listen or support others, we need you. All talents are used. Join us and together we will grow in a deeper love for our neighbors. Contact Sonia Early at 330-921-1432; Barb Lynch 330.426.2387; or Jacob Rhodes at 724.312.2601.
