Formation For All Ages

CCD
(Confraternity of Christian Doctrine)
The ministry of catechesis supports parents in their role as primary educators of their children by offering Faith Formation for Pre-K through 8 children so they can discover the joy of our Catholic Faith.
This program includes classes, family sessions, special events, as well as celebrating and preparing for the sacraments. Children in Grades 4-6 are offered extra opportunities to grow in faith through our Junior Youth Ministry, as well as are teens in grades 7th and 8th with the Junior High Youth Ministry.
Once confirmed, high school students are invited to continue their faith formation through our dynamic youth ministry program – ABLAZE
CGS
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
New to our CCD Program is Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Atrium. It will be for children ages 3-5 years of age and those entering kindergarten.
Our relationship with God is largely built through concrete, sensory experiences. Each week the children will take off their shoes and put on slippers before entering the atrium: this is holy ground, a place of prayer. Into this space the Holy Spirit is invited to be the true Teacher of all present.
Whether the children are listening to God's Word, working with hands-on materials, or singing together, all is prayer in the atrium.

Young Adult Ministry
To help young adults encounter Jesus Christ and develop a deeper relationship with God through prayer, worship, liturgy, sacred scripture, catechesis, and the Sacraments.
To connect young adults to the Church through evangelizing outreach, formation of the faith community, and pastoral care.
To bring young adults to realize their dignity as a person made in the image and likeness of God.
To initiate ongoing catechetical formation for young adults through effective methods of learning the complete faith of the Catholic Church.
To help young adults discover their God-given talents and gifts and how they can use them for the good of others and the Church.
To guide the young adults to discern and pursue their vocation, whether it be marriage, single life, religious life, or the priesthood, as well as exercise their baptismal calling to evangelize and be a witness for others.

Adult Formation
Our adult faith formation ministry must engage the particular needs and interests of the adults in each local community. To be faithful and effective it will offer, over time, a comprehensive and systematic presentation and exploration of the core elements of Catholic faith and practice—a complete initiation into a Catholic way of life. It will do so in a way that is accessible to adults and relates to their life experiences, helping them to form a Christian conscience and to live their lives in the world as faithful disciples of Jesus.
RCIA
If you are an adult, 18 years of age or older and need any of the Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, Confirmation, and Communion, we can assist you with this process. This process is called the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) and is designed to help you discern whether or not you are ready to receive the Sacraments of Initiation. This process is patterned after the ancient practice of the Early Christian Church of the Fourth Century when Catechumens (those desiring to be baptized) journeyed through the process that would lead them to receive all three Sacraments together at the end of their journey.
